Response to COVID-19

On Friday 7th April, we were advised by Dogs NSW that their ban on affiliate‐run events will be up to and including Tuesday 30th June 2020. Further to that, on Tuesday 2nd June the advice was issued that Affiliates may now resume normal activities at their venues.

The SSDTC committee met on Sunday, 14th June 2020 in response to this news and the updated advice from Dogs NSW, and we wish to notify you of the impacts on our club. Please note that the below information may change if we receive new advice from the Australian Federal and NSW Sate Government, Dogs NSW and Sutherland Shire Council, so we advise our members to visit our web site to keep up to date with the latest news.

Generally, when classes commence, please practice good hygiene, maintain appropriate social distancing (Currently 1.5m) while on club grounds. Please do not attend the club grounds if you are feeling unwell, or if you are aware that you have had contact with someone who has been diagnosed with the COVID‐19 virus.

In accordance with Federal Government & Sutherland Shire Council we strongly encourage members to download the Government’s CovidSafe application for Android or iOS

Club Memberships.

  • Current financial year (2019‐2020) membership renewal will be forgone for the 2020‐2021 financial year. So, if you renewed or signed up in the last ½ o 2019 or signed up in the first ¼ of 2020 your membership id valid to 1 July 2021.
  • Members are encouraged to bring correct monies for ground fee and the like.

Generally.

  • No events such as Trials, Competitions, ’Musters’, Demonstrations of any kind or visits to Aged Care facilities are to be held, carried out or attended.
  • The basic rule is “Arrive, Train, and Leave”. No gathering as a group before or after training
  • "Hands on Vetting” will not be undertaken.
  • No members are to enter the club house without completing hygiene practices.
  • There is to be a maximum of:‐
    1. Eight (8) people within the Club House at any time
    2. Two (2) in the Canteen area and any time.
    3. One (1) person at a time in the equipment room and adjacent trial room
  • Tea, coffee and drinks facilities will be suspended.

Classes (at Waratah Park).

  • Social distancing and hand hygiene is to maintained at all times
  • Collection of ground fees will strictly adhere to social distancing guidelines.
  • All classes will be limited to ten (10) persons maximum Including Instructor
  • There will be a maximum of six (6) class groups on the upper and lower fields at one time.
  • There will be a maximum of ten (10) class groups on the Athletics field at one time

Annual Awards

As we have been unable to hold classes and all ANKC events have also been suspended for the majority of 2020, annual club awards will be as follows:‐

Agility

To held over a two‐year period. This is due to the current ‘scoring’ system. The new

award period shall be from 1 November 2019 until 31 October 2021.

Obedience

As person(s) could currently hold two (2) passes and the fact that trialling may

recommence before the end of 2020. Titles gained this year will be award as such.

Any ANKC titles that a member may gained during the “hold over” period will be award in the form of plaque or trophies.
