The Wag Submission Requirements ...

The Document / Submission Format

Obviously, the format that the editor receives is their choice, so if you're unsure why not contact the editor and ask. Submission not in electronic format or that are poorly formatted will obviously take us more time to process and we may not have the time or resources to convert, format, tidy up, clean up etc. So, in a bid to ensure that the editor and us do not become “Key to Disk Operators” or “Document formatter/ Secretaries” for the “Computer illiterate” members of the club we suggest you ---> Consider the Following BEFORE YOUR SUBMISSION: --->

Text         Preferably in the editor’s software preferred format. At a minimum it should be in ASCII Text or Rich Text Format (RFT). MS Word Documents’ must utilize paragraph formatting and anchoring of any images to ensure that the document format is maintained (Looks like what the user provided or wanted) when inserted into The Wag

Margins   Probably the most important thing to consider is to set up your margins. The Wag, since it is a magazine style book has left and right handed pages to enable the binding and printer non-print areas to be taken into account, with that in mind you'll need to setup your page size and margins in your word processor software.

Typical Setup for a Right hand page !

Page Size

 ---->

A4 or 210 mm x 297 mm

Top margin

 ---->

15 mm

Left margin

 ---->

25 mm

Right margin

 ---->

15 mm

Bottom margin

 ---->

20 mm

If you have a design advertisement, just make the right and left margins 20 mm each and the top and bottom both 15 mm just to center your ad, but keep in mind the binding margins so if you have information close to left or right side you may consider moving them.

Its best to anchor your pictures (not move with text) and adjust their properties to ensure they stay where you want them. Most systems allow a right click option on the image as an access point to several properties such as text wrapping, location, format, etc. Again, if you're unsure ASK, don't just send your article and assume we can make it all work for you as you may be unhappy with the outcome

History has revealed that the above yields a small sized PDF file and a much more manageable document overall. It also results in less work for the editor in regard to re-formatting and manipulating the supplied document to obtain a satisfactory result.

Once you have completed your article, add, whatever simple email it to the editor via the link below.
